The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 is just around the corner with New Zealand and Australia all prepared to host the mega event for the first time.
The ninth edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup will feature 64 matches with the first match and opening ceremony set to take place on July 20 at New Zealand’s Eden Park in Auckland.
An exciting night awaits at Eden Park which can gather as many as 50,000 spectators and is the largest stadium in the country which has hosted many important matches throughout its history including a Rugby World Cup final in 2011.
As of now, two artists have been confirmed and will be using the magic of their voices at the opening ceremony of the mega event.
A local artist named BENEE, a New Zealander and an Australian artist Mallrat will be performing “Do It Again” the Women’s World Cup official song at the opening ceremony.
The tournament will be played at ten stadiums across Australia and New Zealand as this will be the first FIFA Women's Football World Cup to have two host nations.
The last Women’s Fifa World Cup in 2019 was won by Team USA who defeated Netherlands 2-0 in the final to win their second consecutive and fourth overall title.
